Who is Rastafari?

Haile Selassie I, crowned in 1928 Emperor of Ethiopia, is most gratiously known as the 225th Emperor in a direct bloodline of the Ethiopian monarch, Menelik being the first. Menelik was the son of Queen of Sheba and King Solomon who is the son of David, King of Israel. With this said, InI can see how many could see His Emperial Majestay as one of devine importance. Born, Tafari Makonen, Haile Selassie I would be referred to as Ras (Amharaic Royalty) Tafari when put togather pronounces RasTafari. From here, we see whre this word was born. Emperor Tafari Makonnen himself. Before H.I.M. became 20 years of age, Haile Selassie I married Woizero Menen Asfaw, a granddaughter of King Michael of Wollo. During his reign as king he established numberous schools, hospitals, banks and airline, abolished slavery in his country (March 31, 1924) and modernized the overall infrastructure of Ethiopia. During his reign, Ethiopia was seen as a powerful civilized independant African nation. His contribution made his country known throughout the world as a powerful nationa and was a model many African nations hoped to achive. In 1974, His Imperial Majesty passed on to be with his model, Yashua and Jah the Father. Though he lye in a gravesite in Ethiopia, his life, legacy and historic words itinue to live on, thus bringing to life the teachmeants of being fulfilled in Christ.

Certain trods (houses) of Rastafari believe H.I.M., Haile Selassie I is the Messiah even though he and his family have denied it for decades. His Imperial Majesty said "I am mere Man, and when I pass, generations will succeceed me." This prophet was as humble as any of Jah's idren could be.

In many of his speeches, H.I.M. clearly emphasized the importance of knowing Yashua and acknowledging his presence. "The love shown in Christ by our God to manking should constrain all of us who are followers and desciples of Christ to do all in our power to see to it that the Message of Salvation is carried to those of our fellows for whom Christ Our Saviour was sacraficed but who had not the benefit of hearing the good news."
